Outcome

One defined Elastic operational task is documented, demonstrated, performed by the customer and verified against an agreed completion standard.

Overview

A recurring Elastic task is understood but the customer team cannot yet perform it independently and consistently. Rather than generic classroom training, this deliverable builds a concrete, environment-specific operational runbook, walks your engineers through a live demonstration, coaches them through their own execution and verifies that your team can run the task safely on their own.

Service request options

Option Credits Scope & objective Boundary
Standard 6,000 One stable, repeatable operational task, one agreed runbook, guided execution and one verified customer-led completion. Requires Delivery approval.

Scope

  • Refine and document the exact operational task boundary.
  • Author or adapt a concise, step-by-step operational runbook tailored to your environment.
  • Conduct a live specialist demonstration of the task.
  • Guide and observe one customer-led execution of the task.
  • Verify completion against defined quality, health and safety checks.
  • Hand over final operating documentation and completion records.

Customer responsibilities

  • Designate a primary task owner and named engineering participants.
  • Ensure participants have the required administrative permissions and environment access.
  • Provide a stable target environment (such as a staging or non-production cluster, or an approved maintenance window).
  • Guarantee participant availability for the demonstration, hands-on execution and review sessions.
  • Ensure designated engineers hold the operational authority to perform the task.
  • Participate in final verification and sign-off.

Prerequisites and assumptions

The task must already be stable, repeatable and safe for customer execution. If the underlying procedure still requires architectural redesign, diagnosis, bug fixing or specialist-only actions, the request remains in Advisory or routes to an appropriate platform execution deliverable first. Delivery approval is required.

Out of scope

  • General, broad-syllabus Elastic classroom training or certification preparation.
  • Open-ended, unstructured knowledge-transfer sessions without a defined operational task.
  • Covering multiple unrelated tasks or tools within a single Service Request.
  • Ongoing continuous coaching, long-term mentoring or co-working hours.
  • Observata assuming permanent operational ownership or responsibility for future executions.

Delivery approach

  • 1. Qualify stable task: Verify that the task is repeatable, documented and safe for team execution.
  • 2. Define runbook: Create a clear, step-by-step operational procedure with validation checks.
  • 3. Demonstrate: Walk through the live task in a structured demonstration with your engineers.
  • 4. Customer performs: Guide and shadow your designated engineer as they execute the steps.
  • 5. Verify completion checks: Confirm that all post-task health and validation criteria pass.
  • 6. Handover: Deliver the final version-controlled runbook and formal completion record.

Completion and evidence

The customer completes the defined task using the runbook and meets the agreed completion checks without Observata performing the task on their behalf. Evidence delivered at sign-off includes:

  • Final, approved operational runbook documentation.
  • Record of the specialist demonstration session.
  • Customer-led execution log confirming successful independent completion.
  • Passing post-task health, configuration and verification checks.
  • Formal handover acceptance sign-off.

Delivery credits

This deliverable is available only to customers with Elastic Specialist Advisory. Once the Service Advisor and Delivery have qualified the Service Request, the applicable credits are allocated from the customer's available credit pool. Delivery credits represent the defined result, not consulting hours.

If the scope changes

If during preparation or demonstration it becomes apparent that the task is unstable, undocumented prerequisites cause recurring failures, or the customer team lacks baseline system permissions, Observata pauses the affected work. The Service Advisor and Delivery then requalify the request to another option, an execution deliverable or a larger governed engagement before additional scope is performed or additional credits are consumed.

How to use this deliverable

  • 1. Identify the recurring operational procedure your team wants to own with your advisor.
  • 2. Your Service Advisor verifies task repeatability, environment readiness and 6,000-credit scope.
  • 3. The Service Request is activated, locking the task boundary and credits upfront.
  • 4. Delivery authors the runbook, demonstrates the workflow, coaches your engineer through live execution and verifies independent success.
