Approved subtype 500 One defined single-object change: configuration adjustment, alert or rule adjustment, dashboard tune-up or a known local ingest pipeline correction. Sensitive or pipeline changes require Delivery approval.

Scope

  • One approved configuration change applied to the designated target object.
  • One standard verification test executed to confirm intended behaviour.
  • Evidence capture documenting pre-change and post-change states.
  • Formal handover closure.

Customer responsibilities

  • Designate an authorised technical owner to approve the change.
  • Provide required administrative cluster or Kibana access.
  • Supply current configuration details and the intended target setting.
  • Provide change approval and representative test data or events where relevant.
  • Participate in prompt post-change acceptance.

Prerequisites and assumptions

Available only when the object, intended change, access, risk, rollback and verification test are known. If diagnosis or solution design remains necessary, the request returns to Advisory first.

Out of scope

  • Root-cause diagnosis or exploratory troubleshooting.
  • Changes spanning multiple objects or clusters.
  • Repeated iterative tuning cycles or continuous monitoring.
  • Custom software engineering or new solution architecture.
  • Upstream system remediation or cross-team coordination.

Delivery approach

  • 1. Qualify: Confirm the target object, specific change, access, rollback path and verification method.
  • 2. Baseline: Record the current configuration state of the object.
  • 3. Apply: Implement the approved change directly in the environment.
  • 4. Verify: Execute the agreed verification test to confirm the expected result.
  • 5. Record: Capture before-and-after evidence along with the verification result.
  • 6. Complete: Record customer acceptance or complete an approved rollback if required.

Completion and evidence

The change and verification are recorded, the expected result is observed and the customer accepts the result or the approved rollback is completed. Evidence delivered at sign-off includes:

  • Documented before and after state of the object.
  • Change reference record.
  • Verification test execution result.
  • Customer acceptance record or rollback record.

Delivery credits

This deliverable is available only to customers with Elastic Specialist Advisory. Once the Service Advisor and, where required, Delivery have qualified the Service Request, the applicable credits are allocated from the customer's available credit pool. Delivery credits represent the defined result, not consulting hours.

If the scope changes

If qualification or delivery identifies a material condition outside the approved boundary, Observata pauses the affected work. The Service Advisor and Delivery then requalify the request to another option, another deliverable or a larger governed engagement before additional scope is performed or additional credits are consumed.

How to use this deliverable

  • 1. Identify a pending, low-risk change during your working session or log it with your advisor.
  • 2. Your Service Advisor confirms the change and verification test fit the 500-credit boundary.
  • 3. The Service Request is activated and 500 credits are allocated from your pool.
  • 4. Delivery implements the change, records the passing verification test and hands over evidence.
