Focused Elastic improvement

Targeted optimisation for a specific Elastic object requiring more than a minor tweak. Fixed-scope platform delivery funded directly from your advisory credit pool, with top-ups available anytime.

Outcome

The selected object or configuration meets one agreed improvement objective and passes the approved test.

Overview

A known Elastic object or configuration needs more than a minor adjustment but does not require a broader platform overhaul. This deliverable focuses specialist execution on a single defined asset - such as an inefficient query, an alerting rule or an ingest pipeline - improving performance and reliability against an agreed test standard.

Service request options

Option Credits Scope & objective Boundary
Approved subtype 1,500 One qualified object receiving one defined improvement: Query Improvement, Visualisation Improvement, Alert / Rule Improvement, Pipeline Improvement, Access & Role Improvement or another approved single-object improvement.

Scope

  • A focused adjustment applied to one named Elastic object.
  • Targeted validation testing against agreed improvement criteria.
  • One structured review cycle with customer technical leads.
  • Evidence capture and formal operational handover.

Customer responsibilities

  • Provide required administrative access to the relevant Elastic components.
  • Designate one technical owner for review and testing.
  • Supply representative test data, queries or test conditions.
  • Provide formal change approvals for the target environment.
  • Participate in the review cycle and acceptance confirmation.

Prerequisites and assumptions

The root cause and desired target state must already be understood. If several linked objects, architecture changes or unresolved production risks appear, the request moves to another deliverable or back to Advisory.

Out of scope

  • Open-ended exploratory diagnosis or root-cause investigations.
  • Adjustments spanning several linked or dependent objects.
  • Full dashboard restorations or creating new dashboards from scratch.
  • Custom application development or external code rewrites.
  • Broad system-wide tuning or upstream data remediation.

Delivery approach

  • 1. Qualify: Confirm the target object, the specific improvement objective and the test criteria.
  • 2. Baseline: Measure and document the initial performance or configuration state.
  • 3. Improve: Apply the bounded technical changes to the selected object.
  • 4. Test: Execute targeted test runs to evaluate the improvement against the baseline.
  • 5. Verify: Confirm the agreed performance or functional metric passes.
  • 6. Complete: Deliver change records, test results and handover documentation.

Completion and evidence

The agreed improvement objective and test pass for the named object, with baseline, change record, test result, exceptions and acceptance captured. Evidence delivered at sign-off includes:

  • Initial baseline measurement.
  • Record of the changed object or configuration.
  • Test execution results proving the objective was achieved.
  • Documented exceptions (if any).
  • Formal customer acceptance sign-off.

Delivery credits

This deliverable is available only to customers with Elastic Specialist Advisory. Once the Service Advisor and, where required, Delivery have qualified the Service Request, the applicable credits are allocated from the customer's available credit pool. Delivery sredits represent the defined result, not consulting hours.

If the scope changes

If qualification or delivery identifies a material condition outside the approved boundary, Observata pauses the affected work. The Service Advisor and Delivery then requalify the request to another option, another deliverable or a larger governed engagement before additional scope is performed or additional credits are consumed.

How to use this deliverable

  • 1. Pinpoint the struggling object (query, pipeline, alert or visual) with your advisor.
  • 2. Your Service Advisor verifies that the task fits the single-object boundary.
  • 3. The Service Request is activated and 1,500 credits are allocated from your pool.
  • 4. Delivery applies the improvement, validates the test metric and hands over documented proof.
