Outcome

One existing dashboard is restored to the agreed usable state and verified with the intended users or owner.

Overview

An existing Elastic dashboard is materially unusable due to broken visualisations, slow queries, deprecated saved searches or incorrect field aggregations. This deliverable executes coordinated corrections across the dashboard and its directly linked objects to make it performant, accurate and trusted again.

Service request options

Option Credits Scope & objective Boundary
Standard 3,000 One existing dashboard and its directly linked saved objects within the recorded defect boundary.

Scope

  • Defined corrections to visualisations, queries and filters within one existing dashboard container.
  • Alignment of broken visualisations to currently valid index patterns and fields.
  • Functional verification checks with the intended operational users or dashboard owner.
  • Export of updated saved objects and handover closure.

Customer responsibilities

  • Provide access to the dashboard owner or intended operational users.
  • Identify the current dashboard URL and clarify its expected business purpose.
  • Provide required administrative or space permissions in Kibana.
  • Supply concrete examples of defects, inaccuracies or failing queries.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing and sign off usability.

Prerequisites and assumptions

The dashboard and required underlying index data must already exist, and the specific defects must be documented. Missing or defective source data routes to an appropriate Data & Logging deliverable.

Out of scope

  • Building a new dashboard from scratch.
  • Onboarding new data sources or modifying upstream pipeline schemas.
  • Resolving underlying backend data corruption or missing historical logs.
  • Broad cluster-level performance engineering or infrastructure scaling.
  • Open-ended visual design iterations or continuous dashboard administration.

Delivery approach

  • 1. Qualify: Review the dashboard, verify the underlying data exists and agree the defect list.
  • 2. Baseline defects: Document existing errors, visual failures and query response times.
  • 3. Repair: Correct broken visualisations, update queries and tune filter configurations.
  • 4. User test: Conduct a structured walkthrough with the dashboard owner or operational users.
  • 5. Verify: Confirm all agreed defects are resolved and performance meets usability thresholds.
  • 6. Complete: Export updated saved objects, capture verification evidence and close handover.

Completion and evidence

The agreed dashboard defects are resolved, acceptance checks pass and the owner confirms usability. Evidence delivered at sign-off includes:

  • Agreed defect resolution checklist.
  • Export of updated Kibana saved objects and dashboard JSON.
  • Visual verification screenshots demonstrating restored views.
  • User acceptance checks and formal confirmation of usability from the owner.

Delivery credits

This deliverable is available only to customers with Elastic Specialist Advisory. Once the Service Advisor and, where required, Delivery have qualified the Service Request, the applicable credits are allocated from the customer's available credit pool. Delivery credits represent the defined result, not consulting hours.

If the scope changes

If qualification or delivery identifies a material condition outside the approved boundary (such as missing source data, unresolvable cluster capacity limits or a need for a complete redesign), Observata pauses the affected work. The Service Advisor and Delivery then requalify the request to another option, another deliverable or a larger governed engagement before additional scope is performed or additional credits are consumed.

How to use this deliverable

  • 1. Present the failing dashboard and known defects to your advisor in your working session.
  • 2. Your Service Advisor verifies the underlying data is accessible and qualifies the 3,000-credit scope.
  • 3. The Service Request is activated and credits are allocated from your pool.
  • 4. Delivery repairs the visualisations and queries, verifies the result with your team and hands over the restored dashboard.
