Outcome

One defined investigation use case using supported Elastic AIOps capabilities is configured and verified against an agreed operational scenario.

Overview

Operational teams have ready telemetry but still lack one repeatable investigation path for a defined incident, anomaly or degradation scenario. This deliverable implements supported Elastic AIOps tools - such as log rate spike analysis, log pattern categorisation and change point detection - so engineers can isolate root causes faster during outages.

Service request options

Option Credits Scope & objective Boundary
Standard 6,000 One investigation use case using ready telemetry and supported AIOps capabilities within one operational boundary.
Integrated 9,000 The same use case with a defined supported workflow, Kibana Case, external notification or knowledge integration. Requires Delivery approval.

Scope

  • Configure the approved operational investigation path using supported Elastic AIOps tools.
  • Connect agreed log streams, service telemetry and baseline metrics.
  • Configure log pattern grouping, rate anomaly detectors or change point analysis.
  • Establish defined workflow handoffs or case integrations for Integrated variants.
  • Test the complete investigation flow against an agreed incident or degradation scenario.
  • Document triage steps and complete operational handover.

Customer responsibilities

  • Confirm that ready and trusted telemetry exists for the target system.
  • Formulate a clear operational investigation question (such as diagnosing latency spikes or error surges).
  • Designate system and service owners to guide scenario setup.
  • Provide historical incident data or cooperate in executing a simulated triage scenario.
  • Maintain appropriate Elastic licence entitlements supporting AIOps.
  • Participate in triage verification and provide formal sign-off.

Prerequisites and assumptions

The operational question, required telemetry and expected investigation result must be explicit before activation. Integrated requires Delivery approval and supported integration paths.

Out of scope

  • Remediating broken or incomplete underlying telemetry pipelines.
  • Broad, enterprise-wide observability architecture redesigns.
  • Implementing multiple unrelated operational investigation workflows in one request.
  • Custom machine learning or proprietary AI algorithm development.
  • Continuous operational incident response or active on-call support.
  • Contractual guarantees of automated root-cause identification accuracy.

Delivery approach

  • 1. Qualify investigation scenario: Clarify the triage bottleneck, operational question and telemetry inputs.
  • 2. Configure evidence and workflow: Set up AIOps analysis features (log categorisation, change points or rate analysis).
  • 3. Test scenario: Execute a simulated triage workflow using historical or representative test data.
  • 4. Verify surfaced evidence and handoff: Confirm that relevant diagnostic evidence is surfaced and routed cleanly.
  • 5. Complete: Export configuration settings, document triage runbooks and close handover.

Completion and evidence

The agreed scenario can be investigated through the configured workflow, expected evidence is surfaced, the workflow or handoff works and the customer accepts the result. Evidence delivered at sign-off includes:

  • Configured AIOps investigation path documentation.
  • Recorded evidence set and categorised pattern definitions.
  • Test execution logs demonstrating diagnostic findings.
  • Workflow and notification handoff verification records.
  • Documented exceptions (if any) and formal customer acceptance.

Delivery credits

This deliverable is available only to customers with Elastic Specialist Advisory. Once the Service Advisor and, where required, Delivery have qualified the Service Request, the applicable credits are allocated from the customer's available credit pool. Delivery credits represent the defined result, not consulting hours.

If the scope changes

If discovery reveals that ingested logs lack consistent structure for categorisation, telemetry volume is insufficient or the problem requires cross-platform engineering, Observata pauses the affected work. The Service Advisor and Delivery then requalify the request to another option, another deliverable or a larger governed engagement before additional scope is performed or additional credits are consumed.

How to use this deliverable

  • 1. Identify the repetitive incident triage bottleneck with your advisor in your working session.
  • 2. Your Service Advisor verifies data readiness and qualifies Standard or Integrated tier.
  • 3. The Service Request is activated, locking the investigation boundary and credit value upfront.
  • 4. Delivery configures the AIOps features, proves evidence discovery in a test run and delivers the workflow.
