Outcome

The qualified environment and included components are implemented and pass the acceptance criteria for the selected variant.

Overview

An approved Elastic design needs to be implemented as a defined environment. This deliverable provisions, configures and secures a complete Elastic environment—whether hosted on Elastic Cloud or deployed via Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK); establishing baseline security, node roles, storage tiers and backup controls ready for workload onboarding.

Service request options

Option Credits Scope & objective Boundary
Foundation 6,000 One non-complex standalone environment (such as Elastic Cloud or single-cluster on-prem) with core platform configuration.
Standard 9,000 Up to two coordinated environments (such as Non-Prod and Prod), supported High Availability (HA) or cloud pattern, defined integrations and baseline migration. Requires Delivery approval.
Advanced 12,000 Up to two environments deployed via approved ECK, Kubernetes or comparable complex topology, with multiple governed components and formal recovery evidence. Requires senior Delivery approval.

Scope

  • Provision node roles; Dedicated master, hot/warm/cold data, ingest and coordinating.
  • Configure platform security; TLS encryption, internal authentication, RBAC and Kibana spaces.
  • Establish cluster baseline configurations; index templates, default ILM policies and cluster settings.
  • Configure snapshot repositories and scheduled automated backup policies.
  • Execute health, security, access and recovery verification tests.
  • Document environment topology, connection endpoints and operational handover pack.

Customer responsibilities

  • Provide approved architecture blueprints and clear technical responsibility boundaries.
  • Provision target infrastructure (cloud subscription, VMs or Kubernetes clusters) and licences.
  • Supply network routing, DNS endpoints, firewall allowances and TLS certificates if customer-managed.
  • Designate identity and platform administrators for access and integration sign-off.
  • Conduct validation checks during the agreed handover window.

Prerequisites and assumptions

Target architecture, infrastructure provisioning and operational responsibilities must be approved before activation. The Advanced variant requires senior delivery approval.

Out of scope

  • Open-ended architecture design or exploratory feasibility studies.
  • Provisioning physical server hardware or paying third-party cloud infrastructure bills.
  • Large-scale data migration programmes or application code development.
  • Multi-source workload onboarding (use Data & Logging deliverables for pipeline intake).
  • Continuous 24/7 managed cluster operations or incident management.

Delivery approach

  • 1. Confirm readiness: Review approved architecture, infrastructure access, network paths and licensing.
  • 2. Deploy: Provision cluster instances or apply ECK manifests matching the target topology.
  • 3. Configure: Set node roles, memory heap allocations, cluster settings and default ILM policies.
  • 4. Integrate: Configure authentication providers (SAML/LDAP or native RBAC), TLS and backup targets.
  • 5. Perform defined migration: Execute agreed configuration or baseline data migration if included in variant.
  • 6. Test & recovery evidence: Validate cluster health, role failover, snapshot creation and RBAC isolation.
  • 6. Handover: Deliver operational connection endpoints, administrative runbooks and handover pack.

Completion and evidence

The environment, core components and integrations are deployed, and agreed health, security, access and recovery checks pass. Evidence delivered at sign-off includes:

  • Topology diagram and component inventory manifest.
  • Cluster configuration and settings documentation.
  • TLS, authentication and RBAC security validation records.
  • Snapshot repository configuration and successful backup execution log.
  • Operational handover document and customer sign-off record.

Delivery credits

This deliverable is available exclusively through Elastic Specialist Advisory. Once qualified by your Service Advisor and Delivery, the applicable credits are allocated from your available credit pool. Delivery credits represent the defined technical result, not consulting hours.

If the scope changes

If during deployment the underlying infrastructure is insufficient, networking/firewall paths are blocked or architecture specifications are modified, work pauses immediately. Your Service Advisor will requalify the scope to another option or a larger governed engagement before extra scope is executed or additional credits are consumed.

How to use this deliverable

  • 1. Agree implementation timelines and cluster sizing with your advisor in your working sessions.
  • 2. Your Service Advisor confirms prerequisites and selects Foundation, Standard or Advanced.
  • 3. The Service Request is activated, locking the technical boundary and credits upfront.
  • 4. Delivery provisions, configures and verifies the environment, presenting complete handover evidence.
